  • AP courses are equivalent to a university level course, and provide a much deeper level of understanding and evaluation than the non-AP high school courses. One benefit for a student to complete AP courses during their high school years is to lessen the potential cost of the university courses. AP courses cost much less than it would to take the same course at the university. It is apparent that universities give higher consideration to students that have AP courses included on their transcripts in their application letters to potential universities. AP examinations use a 5-point scale and are generally available every May.
SAT

The SAT1 is a general examination that includes a Reading, Writing and Mathematics, with each part being 800 points out of a possible 2400 points. The SAT2 is a single subject examination individually including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Foreign Languages (Chinese, Japanese, German, French, Spanish). Each subject is out of 800 points. The SAT exams will test students' ability to provide analysis and problem-solving knowledge learned in school, and this knowledge is vital in college. SAT scores are highly regarded in consideration for the top American universities application process.
TOEFL
  • TOEFL is an English proficiency test administered internationally and accredited by the US Educational Testing Service (ETS). The TOEFL score is a reflection of students’ abilities in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Students’ proficiency levels in each of the four areas will help determine their acceptance into the top universities.
